GOT QUESTIONS?
Everything you need to know before joining the invasion.
What is Whatnot?
Whatnot is a live shopping app where sellers host video shows, run giveaways, and sell items in real time β think of it like a live auction crossed with a shopping channel. Alien Frank's shows happen there every Saturday. It's free to join and watch.
How do I join a live show?
Download the Whatnot app, search for Area51_preciousmetals, and hit follow. You'll get a notification whenever a show goes live. Saturday shows are the main event β that's when giveaways and Invader Challenge points happen.
What's the Invader Challenge?
A season-long giveaway competition running through the final show on September 13, 2026. Every eligible giveaway win on a Saturday show earns you 1 Invader Point. Rack up the most points across at least 3 separate Saturday shows, and you're in the running for the Alien Silver Prize.
See full rules & live leaderboard βHow do I earn points and win the Alien Silver Prize?
Join a Saturday show, enter the giveaway using the button in the Whatnot app, and if you win, Mike verifies and logs your point personally. The invader with the most verified points at the September 13 final show wins the Alien Silver Prize β but you have to be present at that final show to claim it.
What's a "Little Frank"?
Little Franks are physical collectible alien toys, each with a unique serial number. They're given out during shows, and every one is tied to Alien Frank's origin story β a small alien who escaped Area 51 and landed in Rachel, Nevada.
Read Frank's full origin story βHow do I log my Little Frank on the map?
Once you've got a Little Frank, head to the origin story page and click "Log Your Little Frank." Enter the serial number from your Frank's tag and your exact Whatnot username β this gets checked against our records, so make sure both match exactly. Once verified, your Frank shows up as a pin on the live map.
Go to the live map βHow do I get a Little Frank of my own?
Little Franks are handed out during Saturday shows β sometimes as giveaways, sometimes available for purchase. Keep an eye on the show chat for when they come up, or ask during a live show.
What's the Founding Member Tee, and how does the pricing work?
It's Alien Frank's official pre-order shirt β you reserve your spot now, and pay nothing until the order is placed. Once 50 invaders have reserved a tee, the print order goes in and the price drops for everyone who signed up. The more people who join, the cheaper it gets for the whole squad.
Reserve your tee βCan I share photos of my Frank?
Yes! Head to the photo gallery and submit a photo of your Little Frank out in the wild. Every submission is reviewed before it goes live, so it might take a little time to appear β but once approved, it joins the community wall for everyone to see.
Share your photo βCan I get silver coins and bullion for less than retail at a live auction?
That's the whole point of a live auction. Every lot on our Saturday Whatnot show is bid on live, so the room sets the price, not a fixed retail markup. Some nights a coin goes cheap, some nights it gets spicy. Pro tip from Frank: check the silver spot price before the show so you know a good deal when it floats by.
Do you sell copper rounds that make a fun gift for a coin collector?
Yes. Our 1 oz .999 fine copper rounds carry original alien and Area 51-themed designs you won't find at a regular coin shop. They're low-cost, they look great in a capsule, and collectors chase the limited-run designs. Easy gift for any stacker, or anyone who needs a little alien in their life.
Do you show real photos of the actual coin before I buy?
Always. No stock photos at Area 51. On the live show you see the actual piece you're bidding on, on camera. Want a closer look? Ask in chat and Frank will show it front and back before the bidding starts.
What silver should a beginner buy on a small budget?
Start small and stack steady. Most new stackers begin with 1 oz silver rounds or 90% silver coins (pre-1965 US dimes and quarters), which usually carry lower premiums per ounce than fancy coins. Copper rounds are an even cheaper way to start a collection. Our beginner's stacking guide walks you through it.
Is Area 51 Precious Metals veteran-owned?
Yes. Area 51 Precious Metals is a veteran-owned, family-run shop in Marysville, Washington. We sell real silver and copper live every Saturday on Whatnot, with real photos and secure shipping. Our Whatnot orders ship in under a day on average, and we have a 5.0 rating across 509 buyer reviews. No surprises, just shiny metal and one very dedicated alien.
Who do I contact with questions?
Drop a message in the show chat during a live Saturday show, or send a message through Whatnot to Area51_preciousmetals directly. Mike handles all point verification, prize questions, and general support personally.
