The Real Story Behind Alien Frank (And Why He Runs Our Shop)
Anyone who's spent five minutes on our site or in a Whatnot chat has met Frank — the little green guy who's technically our unofficial mascot, but who we're pretty sure actually thinks he's the CEO.
The short version, for anyone who hasn't read his full origin story: Frank's tale starts near Rachel, Nevada, not far from a certain highly classified piece of real estate the government would rather we not name directly. As the story goes, he touched down, liked what he saw, and decided a small, veteran-owned family shop dealing in silver and copper was exactly the kind of operation worth sticking around for. We've been letting him "run things" ever since — mostly from a poster on the wall, if we're being honest, though he'd dispute that framing.
Why lean into an alien mascot for a precious metals business? Partly because this industry can take itself a little too seriously sometimes, and we'd rather you smile than squint at another wall of spreadsheet-looking spot prices. Partly because Frank gives us a fun through-line for drops, giveaways, and the ongoing Invader Challenge leaderboard. And partly because, honestly, he's grown on us. Try running a Sunday show without him at this point — the chat would riot.
Underneath the alien theme, we're still exactly what we started as: a veteran-owned family business that cares about honest weights, fair prices, and treating stackers like people instead of transactions. Frank's just here to make sure you're having fun while we do it.
